Carafes and tankards

In the past centuries in Europe, to drink beer in a pewter carafe represented almost a ritual celebration.
The combination between the golden colour of beer, the white of the foam and the sober grey of the pewter was an inseparable one. In the artisan guilds of medieval towns this ritual was celebrated even more by engraving the beer tankards with the patron saints, almost to underline the sacredness of the piece.
The GT collection includes copies of ancient original pewter tankards and carafes originating from many different European nations (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Norway, etc.). These will plunge you into a world of castles, country estates, arms, carts, dust and beer.

Our pewter articles are food safe and fulfill all the EEC/EN 611-2 and U.S. requirements.
