Once upon a time, when lighting up a room was not so easy as it is nowadays, sconces were an efficient solution to this problem. Hanging high up on the walls in regard to the candlesticks, they diffused more light in the surrounding space. Our pewter sconces have no longer the function to make light, but to decorate the walls with sobriety and elegance. In case of emergency, though, they can find again their old use and let us enjoy for a few moments an atmosphere we had long forgotten.
